The ocean is beautiful, amazing, and fun! And this ocean game is too! It has a story that will snag your attention, beauty that will awe your eyes, and gameplay that makes for fun exploration and a bit of building without being too cumbersome. An excellent addition to the Subnautica family of greatness. Spaaaaace and Oceeeeeaaan! :D
Shorter than the original game. More narration, with 2 NPC. Different vehicules, monsters and recipes. Some exploration on land with a frost meter.
I really enjoyed the story elements of Below Zero. In that regard, it was more linear than Subnautica, and it felt almost like a game-sized expansion. The Snowfox I really never used, and the Seatruck is 50/50. But the game is just more subnautica with more areas to explore. If you enjoyed the first game, you'll enjoy this Subnautica 1.5!
Aside from having a different objective, region, and vehicle, its a pretty good game, same as sub one in its entirety
Amazing game, some locations are tricky to find even with a beacon, but I just looked them up online. Great story and fun gameplay which could be terrifying at times. I really wish I could have the option of a map or the ability to make one myself like in the long dark. Incredible visuals and audio, I do wish the leviathons stayed dead when you kill them though. All in all i rate the game 8/10
While not quite as expansive as the original, this follow up to Subnautica is still an enjoyable game that like the original, I see myself replaying many times in the future. I do like the threats of the frozen surface with more large hostile ground creatures and the danger of hypothermia is a good balance to the danger of drowning underwater.
